Booking the Test
When you feel you are ready to book you can do this by phone on 0114 2664704 or in person by coming along to our centre. When booking the test it is advised you ring at least two weeks before you would like to sit the test. You may not sit the test within seven days of a booking being made. This allows you time to study. If you are not sure whether you have to take the test or not, contact the Immigration and Nationality Enquiry Bureau on 0870 606 7766.
Before taking the test, we recommend that you study the book "Life in the UK - A Journey to Citizenship". When you take the test, you will be asked whether you have studied the Second Edition of this book (tests from April 2007), since the First Edition tests are no longer available. The chapters you need to study are:
- Chapter 2 - A Changing Society:
- Chapter 3 - UK today: A Profile:
- Chapter 4 - How the United Kingdom is governed:
- Chapter 5 - Everyday needs:
- Chapter 6 - Employment
- The Logo on the book.
